🌳 Oak Tutoring – Terms & Conditions
Effective from: July 2025
Thank you for choosing Oak Tutoring. We aim to make every learning experience effective, enjoyable and supportive. By enrolling, you agree to the following terms, designed to keep things fair and clear for all families.
1. Service Overview
Oak Tutoring offers weekly small-group online lessons suitable for children in Years 4–6, focusing on KS2 English, Maths, SATs and 11+ preparation (FSCE exam board/format only – as we do not cover Non-Verbal Reasoning in our weekly sessions). Lessons are interactive, structured and aligned with the UK National Curriculum.
2. Payment & Pricing
We offer two flexible payment options:
- Monthly Subscription: £60/month for one weekly lesson, September to July (no payments in August).
This covers 38–39 structured, term-time lessons, working out to around £17 per session – offering excellent value and consistency. Subscription payments are collected automatically and continue unless cancelled with one full calendar month’s notice. - Pay As You Go (PAYG): £20 per session, booked individually based on availability. This option does not guarantee a reserved weekly slot.
- All payments are securely processed via Stripe.
3. Booking
- Monthly subscribers secure a fixed weekly slot.
- PAYG students can book available dates via our website.
- Subscriptions can be started from our website or via a personalised link after booking.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
- One full calendar month’s notice is required to cancel a monthly subscription.
- No refunds for missed lessons. Catch-up sessions may be offered during the same term depending on availability.
- Refunds are offered only in exceptional circumstances, at Oak Tutoring’s discretion.
5. Missed Sessions & Catch-ups
- If your child misses a session due to illness or emergency, we’ll try to offer a catch-up if space is available that week.
- Catch-ups must be taken within the same term.
- If a tutor needs to cancel, an alternative session or credit will be provided.
6. Lesson Materials & Homework
After each lesson, we’ll provide:
- A worksheet or activity to complete at home
- A short recap or quiz
Parents may request feedback or support via email or WhatsApp.
7. Tutor Team & Consistency
Lessons are led by high-achieving tutors from top grammar schools, who follow a shared curriculum.
Tutors may cover each other to maintain consistency and avoid disruption.
8. Online Behaviour & Expectations
We expect students to:
- Arrive on time
- Be respectful and focused
- Engage positively during lessons
Repeated disruption may result in removal from the programme.
9. Safeguarding & Online Safety
Oak Tutoring is committed to providing a safe and respectful online environment for all students.
- All tutors are briefed on safeguarding practices.
- Some lessons may be recorded for safeguarding and quality assurance purposes. These recordings are stored securely and deleted after 30 days unless needed for review.
- Students are expected to be prepared 5 mins before each session, attend from a quiet and suitable space with cameras on where possible.

10. Devices & Setup
Please ensure your child has:
- A reliable device (PC, laptop or tablet recommended)
- A quiet space with minimal distractions
- A second device (e.g. mobile/tablet) for quiz participation, if possible
